From Dr. Tanner:
I have always enjoyed listening to my patients with the purpose of becoming more familiar with them. As a matter of fact we have developed many long term personal relationships with our patients over the years. I desire to understand their concerns and respond in a compassionate manner with treatment tailored specifically to their needs. Technology has progressed so rapidly in the past 10 years that we have enhanced techniques to accomplish the patient’s goals. We employ cutting edge treatments that reap big health benefits, long lasting results and of course dazzling smiles. We feel we are able to optimize the patient’s oral health in ways that surpass traditional dentistry. Rather than just treating symptoms we believe in a comprehensive proactive approach to dental health.
I especially enjoy treating patients in pain. Relieving pain and guiding the patient to health is very rewarding for both parties. To see the light go on in the patients eyes when pain disappears is a very heartwarming experience.
I am one of 200 dentists worldwide to earn accreditation in Bioesthetic Dentistry, a breakthrough approach to dental health that effectively alleviates chronic mouth, jaw, neck and head pain using nature as the model. By redesigning teeth and bites, I am able to engineer an optimal dental system where jaw joints are stable, muscles are relaxed and the bites are functional. Of course the smile is beautiful. Once harmony is restored to the chewing system patients feel better and look their best.
In addition to the three years of rigorous training from Orofacial Bioesthetics International I have participated in hundreds of hours of post graduate work at the American Orthodontic Society, the Nobel Pharma Implant Study Group and the Nash Institute for Dental Rehabilitation. Memberships include American Dental Association, Kansas Dental Association and a sustaining member of the Orofacial Bioesthetic Institute.
I graduated from St. Louis University, Washington University and from University of Missouri Kansas City Dental School. I enjoy hiking, biking, golf skiing, photography and travel.
My wife Susan and I have one son Jeffrey, who is currently a resident in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at UCLA.
